Jennifer Lopez plays Jean, a single mother seeking to escape an abusive boyfriend, returning with her daughter to Wyoming. There she looks up Einer, played by Robert Redford, her former father-in-law, a crusty, sad rancher who blames Jean for the accidental death of his only son a decade earlier.
