Lopez And Anthony Sue National Enquirer

JENNIFER LOPEZ and MARC ANTHONY are suing US tabloid National Enquirer in several European courts, over allegations they were linked to a heroin scandal.

The pair's Northern Ireland-based lawyer Paul Tweed said they were seeking a "six-figure settlement" from the publication and its parent company American Media Inc.

Tweed is expected to file one of the lawsuits in a Belfast court today and subsequent suits in London, Dublin and Paris later this week.

The couple are seeking an apology and retraction regarding a March article, which claimed they were "caught up in a heroin scandal", and published a 2004 image of the Salsa singer, 37, standing beside photographer Michael Star, who is awaiting trial in the United States for heroin possession and child pornography.

Jennifer Lopez's Russian payday

Jennifer Lopez has been paid a staggering £1 million by a Russian billionaire to perform at a private concert.

Andrei Melnichenko has asked the Latin star to put on a 40-minute show at his wife Aleksandra's 30th birthday party tomorrow night (21.04.07).

Melnichenko is paying £600,000 for the performance and a further £400,000 to fly J.Lo's entourage from the US to Britain where the party will take place.

The bash will take place in the Berkshire countryside although J.Lo and her entourage will stay in a top London hotel which is included in the £400,000 payment.

A source close to the singer said: "Andrei and Aleksandra are huge fans of J.Lo and were thrilled when she agreed to sing for them. It will be an unusual audience for J.Lo, as the bash will be packed with billionaires."

The party, which will take place in a marquee decorated like a plush nightclub, will be an extravagant occasion, with the all-day event including a cabaret and circus act.

This is not the first time the couple - who count Chelsea football club's billionaire owner Roman Abramovich among their friends - have splashed out on a celebrity performance.

When they married in 2005, they paid a reported £2million for Christina Aguilera to sing at their wedding in the South of France.

Jennifer Lopez Says Breakup Rumor Is 'Disgusting Story Full Of Lies'

Jennifer Lopez has slammed reports claiming her marriage to third husband Marc Anthony is in jeopardy, branding the allegations "disgusting lies." An article in the new edition of OK! reports the couple have "called it quits" after a tumultuous few months, in which the "controlling" Anthony has "suffocated" his wife.

Quoting a source close to the pair, the article says, "Marc is very machismo. (He) won't let her even do a photo shoot by herself. He is always there watching, waiting."

But Lopez denies her marriage is on the rocks and is looking into taking legal action against the publication. Her representative tells the New York Daily News, "(The article is) a disgusting story full of lies. We're consulting lawyers." A friend of the couple adds, "They're inseparable. I don't get a whiff of trouble."

The star wed the Latino actor/singer in June 2004, and recently spoke of Anthony as her "perfect match."

Record news

Jennifer Lopez tells MTV Tr3s that creating her Spanish-language album Como Ama una Mujer changed her perspective — and may impact what you hear on her next English-language LP.
"I have a totally different way of approaching the music now," she explained. "What I will do, what I won't do, making sure it's stuff I believe in. ... In that sense, it's helped me grow. So hopefully that will be reflected in the English album. And I think it is. This is the same type [of music] — dance, R&B, funk — but hopefully with that new kind of growth that happened from that last album."
Lopez will be the "American Idol" guest mentor on Tuesday for the show's Latin-theme night. ...

J-Lo to produce Univision mini-series

Jennifer Lopez has agreed to be executive producer of a five-hour musical drama on Univision, the Spanish-language network in California.

"La Flor Palida" represents Univision's first foray into the miniseries genre, Variety said Tuesday.

The project, which begins filming in Mexico City within the next few weeks, has a tentative premiere date for late May and will include music from Lopez's just-released Spanish CD "Como Ama una Mujer."

Leon Ichaso, who wrote and directed the upcoming Lopez-Marc Antony feature "El Cantante," will direct. Jimena Romero wrote the script. Along with Lopez, Ichaso and her manager Simon Fields will act as executive producers.

Fields said the miniseries grew from a concept presented by Lopez last year. "She had an idea to create a miniseries in the old grand style of things like 'The Thorn Birds,' but using the words in the music to drive the narrative," he said.

It revolves around a movie star-singer named Sofia Marquez who's constantly in the public eye.

Lopez will not act in the project but will appear at the end of each episode, singing a song from "Como Ama una Mujer."

Jennifer Lopez: I like being a housewife

We'd never take diva Jennifer Lopez to be one to relish doing the dishes.

But the singer who married Marc Anthony in 2004 says she now devotes her life to cooking for him and enjoying his company.

'My life was always about love and work, love and work, love and work. But I was always so extreme about both things, I never managed to get the balance right,' she says.

'I had to take time out to learn that balance. I wanted to stay at home and cook for Marc. I wanted to be there when he came in and be the one doing something small, like bringing him a Coke when he sat down at the table. I wanted to look after his needs.'

The 37-year-old singer-and-actress has learned to cook especially for her new husband.

She told Elle: 'I've learned to be a pretty good cook. I do lots of Italian and Puerta Rican dishes, but his favourite is a simple breaded steak.

'For me, a romantic night in is cooking a meal for Marc, lighting a big fire in the house, putting on some music and cuddling up together watching television.'

Jennifer Lopez feels sorry for Britney Spears

After getting full sympathy from Lindsay Lohan's mother, Dina Lohan, troubled singer Britney Spears has found a new supporter, singer Jennifer Lopez.

The Latino Diva, who avoids Hollywood parties and nightclub culture, said that she completely understands how young stars like Britney are fascinated by it and then bear the consequences.

"I feel so sorry for her. The lifestyle just gets to you after a while," Contactmusic quoted Jennifer, as saying.

Lopez was recently in the news when top Latin music chain Ritmo Latino banned all her CDs from its stores accusing the Hispanic singer of disregarding her roots.

The store's President David Massry charged the luscious diva for refusing to personally promote her new Spanish album in Ritmo chain, and said that she has forgotten to acknowledge the support she received from the outlet since the beginning of her career.
