After more media exposure than any celebrity could ever want (no, really), J-Lo made the wise decision of retreating from the spotlight for a while. I am pretty sure that even she got sick of hearing her name and seeing her face everywhere. Instead of her usual spotlight-yanking shenanigans, she’s been keeping a low profile with main squeeze Marc Anthony, enjoying a little breather from the headlines.
According to Billboard, that R&R time has run its course. Lopez is planning to release her first-ever Spanish language album, titled Como Ama Una Mujer (How a Woman Loves), on April 3 via Epic (which will work with Song BMG Latin to get it out there in the Latin market). Her adoring hubby co-wrote and co-produced the CD with Estefano and Julio Reyes.
"Emotionally speaking, to me this album is more me than any other album," she relayed to Billboard.
And that’s not all—she has also landed a sweet deal with Univision TV to release a five-part miniseries, which is based around the content of the album and, of course, includes songs from it. Although she was fantastic in Selena and Out of Sight and never really got enough credit for either of those, she will not be acting in the miniseries.
For those of you who miss her music but would rather hear something in English, your wish is her command: She is also planning to release an English-language album sometime before 2008.

Jennifer Lopez Not Scientologist
Jennifer Lopez has not embraced Scientology, a spokeswoman for the New York-born actress said.
Lopez spokeswoman Leslie Sloane Zelnick said there was no truth to the rumors that Lopez switched faiths, the New York Daily News said Tuesday.
"Jennifer is not a Scientologist," Zelnick said. When asked if Lopez were converting, she told the Daily News, "Not as far as I've been told. No."
Lopez been seen with Scientologists Tom Cruise and wife Katy Holmes, and "King of Queens" star Lea Remini. Zelnick told the newspaper the fact that Lopez socializes with friends who happen to be Scientologists "doesn't mean anything more or anything less" other than she enjoys their company.
But former friends and neighbors said they fear Lopez will turn aside the traditional Roman Catholic beliefs.
"Perhaps her background is not important to her," Sister Lucille Coldrick, principal of the high school where Lopez graduated in 1987, told the Daily News. "My guess is that given the hoopla surrounding Scientology, it's not a bad way
to get publicity."

Audition chaos at Jenifer Lopez's reality show
Jennifer Lopez's new reality show auditions descended into chaos when two animal rights protesters stormed the stage.
The singer-and-actress is producing reality show Glow After Dark to promote her new perfume of the same name, but protesters from Peta gatecrashed the auditions at a California branch of US department store Macy's.
One protester took the stage, pretending to audition, and said: "I think the most important thing about being a diva is not only being sexy and being stylish, but is not wearing real f***ing fur! You're such a fur-cat J Lo."
She was dragged off stage by the presenters while a second protester jumped on stage brandishing an anti-fur poster and chanting "J. Lo ho!"
J. Lo is auditioning for five girls to live as divas with a VIP lifestyle for two weeks in a swanky New York apartment while cameras record them 24-hours a day.
The star was not present at the audition but she and a panel will choose 100 hopefuls from the audition tapes to compete to appear in the final.

'Bordertown' selected for Berlin film festival
This year's Berlin film festival will feature movies from French directors Andre Techine and Jacques Rivette, as well as the U.S. production "Bordertown," directed by Gregory Nava and starring Jennifer Lopez.
The festival runs from Feb. 8-18, and the latest entries, announced Monday, join a program that already includes Robert De Niro's "The Good Shepherd" and Steven Soderbergh's "The Good German."
In "Bordertown," Lopez plays a Chicago-based reporter sent to Mexico to investigate the killings of women in Juárez.
Organizers have yet to announce the final 11 entries in this year s planned official program of 26 movies. Last year, the festival's top Golden Bear award went to Jasmila Zbanic's "Grbavica," a movie examining how a single mother and her 12-year-old daughter struggle with the aftermath of the Bosnian war.

Lopez headed to court over tell-all book
Jennifer Lopez is scheduled to appear in Los Angeles Superior Court later this month as part of her bid to stop the release of a tell-all book.
The New York Daily News reported the "Out of Sight" actress will be in court Jan. 29 to block the release of her ex-husband Ojani Noa's "The Unknown Truth: A Passionate Portrait of a Serial Thriller," a book that accuses her of infidelity.
Lopez wed the Cuban-born restaurant worker back in 1997 and divorced him 11 months later.
The court visit comes after the 36-year-old actress allegedly secured Noa's silence in a previous settlement in which the 32-year-old Noa received $125,000 in return for not divulging Lopez's secrets, the report said.
"We're simply seeking to enforce that agreement ... and compel arbitration to resolve this breach of it," Lopez's lawyer, Jay Lavely, said of the upcoming legal action.
The newspaper said Noa's book alleges that "The Wedding Planner" star cheated on him during their marriage and that she had an affair with Marc Anthony, her current husband, while the singer was still married to another woman.

Jennifer Lopez promoting new MTV series
The MTV Networks didn't offer any news during their three-hour session at the semiannual TV press tour in Pasadena — they even managed to overlook the fact that their chief operating officer, Michael Wolf, resigned Thursday.
But they did manage to bring out Jennifer Lopez, so it wasn't a complete wash.
Lopez was on hand to promote "DanceLife," an MTV series debuting Monday that she executive produces. It follows a half-dozen aspiring dancers as they attempt to break into the business.
Lopez, who began her career as a dancer, said the show concerns "the struggle of loving something so much and wanting to do it and how hard that life can be. That's why I wanted to do it — because I lived it.
"It was my first love," she continued. "I was in sweats all day, with a big bag on my shoulder, going from audition to audition."
Lopez, wearing a clingy mustard top, a short tan skirt and copper heels, added, "That's one of the most intriguing things about dancers: They may be starving, they may not have booked a gig in six months, and they're still at it. They do it for the love of the dance, as corny as that sounds. There's not a lot of money in dance. Ö You don't complain — everyone else around you is in the same boat."
She recalled getting a job in an overseas Broadway revue. "I didn't get a solo in the show, and I was the only one who didn't, and I was devastated," she said. "I called up my mother and she said, 'Hey, you want to be in that business; don't ever call me up crying.' Tough love."
Lopez admitted she has been able to stay out of the tabloids for a while by choice.
"My life for me had become uncomfortable," she said. "It was affecting my personal life and the people in it. I had to take a look at it. I decided to change the way I live. It was an adjustment, but I've found a way to do it."
How do she and her husband Marc Anthony manage to elude the gossip magazines?
"Don't go out as much; choose different places to go," she said.
"If you want to be in those magazines, you can be. But I chose to go a little bit underground. We're not big club people, not anymore."

"Being an example to others is a big part of my work," J.Lo said.

"It excites me to think that I could be capable of changing opinions, or of making people laugh or cry. It's a beautiful facet of the work that we do."
