The couple, who got married in 2004, has strong ties to the Caribbean island - their families descend from the US territory.

Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony are setting up to adopt a baby from Puerto Rico
Lopez and Anthony, who married in June 2004, are always gushing about how much they want to start a family, but they haven’t had much luck so far.
There were lots of reports that J.Lo has suffered a miscarriage in the past few months, and some newspapers suggested she was receiving IVF treatment to help her conceive.
However, Jennifer denied the claims.
Puerto Rico is the destination of choice for the loved-up pair as Jennifer feels that she won’t come under as much criticism as Madonna because the baby will have the same cultural heritage as her and Marc, as dailymail.co.uk reports.
"Jen and Marc are dying to have kids but it just doesn’t seem to be working for them. Jen realizes she’s not getting any younger, so they’ve jointly decided that adoption may be the answer to their prayers. They’ve had some very serious conversations about it and have decided the best place to look is Puerto Rico as Jen and Marc’s parents were both born there," said a source.
The couple has started the process by researching orphanages in the area.
They realize it will take a while but that doesn’t bother them.
"Apparently there’s a lot involved, even if you’re J.Lo. She wants to check out orphanages to make sure the one she choses is reputable and that it does something for the community. She doesn’t want to get burned like Madonna did so she wants to really understand the adoption laws of the country so nobody can contest it afterwards”, the same source also says.
"Jen and Marc hope that by the time the adoption goes through all of the intense negative coverage of Madonna’s adoption will have died. They see their actions as different because they want to adopt a baby with the same cultural heritage as theirs", added the source.
"I want a baby as soon as I possibly can. I’d be so excited to find out I’m pregnant. I just know it’s the right time. Things are incredibly good. A baby would be just so perfect but we will just have to wait and see. Everyone must keep your fingers crossed for me", said J.Lo in January last year.

"I bankrolled Bordertown, El Cantante and the Spanish album. Artists don't make a ton of money from CD sales. The record company makes most of the money.
"Interestingly, at the end of the day, El Cantante, Bordertown and the Spanish album could turn out to make no money, and it was out of my own pocket."

Singer-actress Jennifer Lopez sought advice on acting from her idol Barbra Streisand when she wanted to figure out what film roles she should accept.

Jennifer Lopez is facing a court battle in her ongoing legal dispute with her first ex-husband - Ojani Noa has vowed to fight her “to the end.”
The singer/actress filed her suit against the former waiter in April, after Noa announced plans to detail their one-year marriage in a tell-all book. She also obtained a restraining order barring Noa from revealing intimate details of their sex life.
Noa and Lopez signed an agreement last year, ruling he could not disparage the star or make money from disclosing intimate details from their brief marriage.
But Noa told a Los Angeles judge Friday that he regrets agreeing to the preliminary injunctions.
He said, "I want to fight this thing to the end. My life has not been the same since this lawsuit was filed."
The judge told Noa he must hire a lawyer by January 17 or represent himself in court.

Lopez filed her lawsuit April 10 and obtained a temporary restraining order barring Noa from publishing intimate details of their sex life.

"This was to be about my life story, coming here from Cuba," he said. "She was only a part of my life, but I was going to talk about my other girlfriends as well."

Fox orders pilot for Jennifer Lopez's new 'Brethren' TV drama series
Fox has given a commitment to a pilot episode of "Brethren," a drama from Jennifer Lopez's Nuyorican Productions, Zap2it.com reported in Hollywood.
The show is reportedly based loosely on the life of Isaac Guillen, a former gang member who becomes a defense attorney despite his multiple-felony past. Colleagues think Guillen is corrupt while clients think he's corruptible, the company said in a press release.
Lopez and fellow Nuyorican principal Simon Fields will executive produce "Brethren." Guillen will serve as consultant.
Alfonso Moreno ("The Practice") will write and executive produce, reported Zap2it.com.
"I really love the inherent tension for our main character. He has to work to walk the straight and narrow," Moreno said. "In his professional life, law enforcement is trying to trip him up and criminal forces are lurking to suck him in. His home life is equally tricky in that he has to be the ultimate 'Do what I say, not what I did' single parent."

Jennifer Lopez and her husband, Marc Anthony, Jim Carrey, Jada Pinkett Smith and Brooke Shields are among the celebrities arriving in Rome for Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes' wedding on Saturday.
Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes will likely wed Saturday in a Scientology ceremony held at a 15th-century Italian castle in a lakeside town near Rome, the town’s mayor said Thursday.
The wedding party, along with guests, are then expected to attend a banquet the same day in Rome, Bracciano Mayor Patrizia Riccioni said.
For weeks rumors have focused on Odescalchi Castle in the sleepy town of Bracciano as the likely venue for the celebrity wedding. Riccioni told a news conference Thursday she had met the couple the day before somewhere outside of her town, but she would not say where.

Jennifer Lopez and producer Ross Fineman are teaming up for an hourlong Fox TV Studios drama project set up at Fox Broadcasting, reports Variety.
Alfonso Moreno ("The Practice") is writing the tentatively titled "Brethren," based on the true story of an ex-gangbanger who gets his act together and becomes a defense attorney.
Lopez and Simon Fields will executive produce via their Nuyorican Productions, with Fineman executive producing via his first-look deal at FTVS.
Charles Glen and Barbara Cox are also onboard as executive producers. Fox has made a script commitment to the hour.
Central character in "Brethren" faces a potential sentence of life in prison if he's ever convicted of another felony. Because of his past, the DA's office and police believe he's corrupt, while his clients think he can be corrupted. He'll also face the challenge of being a single dad.
"Brethren" is based on the life of Isaac Guillen. He'll be a consultant on the project, while Nuyorican's Matt Robertson is attached as a producer.

Jennifer Lopez hates dressing up for showbiz events, and insists her days of gracing red carpets in eye-catching outfits are over. The star makes Harper's Bazaar's best-dressed list and appears on the cover of the magazine's December (07) issue, but she insists she would rather stay at home than dress up to go out.
Lopez shares her favourite looks of the moment with the publication, which include hats and head wraps reminiscent of AUDREY HEPBURN.
The WAITING FOR TONIGHT singer has deliberately toned down her look from the days where she appeared in slashed-down-to-her-navel dresses and now prefers "clothes that are closed up to the neck with bows." Lopez, who designs her own fashion range called Sweetface insists she is "not into 'sexy, sexy,'" and also claims she's not into attending events just to show off her great sense of style. She adds, "That going-out-and-being-glam thing gets old fast. People keep saying to me, 'You're not out there anymore.' "And I say, 'That's because I don't want to be!'"
